Sukla Basu (Sen)

Sukla Basu (Sen) is a Professor of English at Visva-Bharati University, Santiniketan. She has specialized in Shakespeare, Renaissance Drama, American Literature, and African American Drama. With over three decades of teaching experience, she has actively contributed to academic scholarship and theatrical productions at the university, fostering a rich cultural and educational environment.
Her academic credentials include a B.A. from Presidency College, Calcutta (1971), and an M.A. from Calcutta University (1973). Prof. Basu has been instrumental in directing student Shakespearean plays and promoting drama and translation studies at Visva-Bharati.
